Summary: Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, audit, and special projects. Controller will establish financial policies, procedures and controls. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience in public accounting or with a large corporation and at least 1-3 year of direct reports/supervisory experience. Financial industry experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting functions
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Prepare work papers for year-end audit
• General ledger maintenance and chart of accounts
• Analyze business unit performance and select balance sheet accounts
• Research and resolve accounting issues as they arise
• Month-end closing activities
• Maintain covenant analysis on financial accounts
• Fixed asset accounting and depreciation analysis
• Provide accurate and timely information for filing of federal and state returns.
• Quarterly tax preparation
• Manage the filing of sales and personal property tax
• Manage Employee intake
• Administer company benefit programs
• Preform administrative human resource duties
• Process payroll in a timely manner
• Maintain orderly accounting filing system
• Assist upper management with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis
Requirements:
• Proven work experience as a financial controller
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Understanding of lease accounting (strong plus)
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Excellent accounting software and Microsoft office user
Software Experience:
• MS Dynamics GP, Great Plains, Aspire, QuickBooks, Office 365, Crystal Reports
• Expert skill level with Microsoft Excel (nested IF statements, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
